Maintaining an orderly atmosphere is critical to the learning process. Although it is necessary to set and enforce rules, procedures, and boundaries, our desire is to train students to become self-disciplined as they grow. We encourage our students to love and trust God and from love and obedience to exhibit respect, care, and love towards others. In some cases, it may be necessary for the administration to impose disciplinary consequences, including dismissal from enrollment if the student is deemed to have a negative impact on other students or the school community.

Regular school attendance is mandatory. It is essential for the growth and success of the students. Therefore, excessive, unexcused absences will not be tolerated. Parents are required to call the office to report the name of their absent child and the cause of the absence to the school whenever they are absent.

There are two conditions for which a child’s absence is normally excused. These are 1) personal illness, and 2) death in the family. Written notification must be provided to the office for consideration of all other absences.

The Texas Department of Health requires that we dismiss an ill child from school. Any child showing symptoms of illness will be isolated and the parent or guardian notified. Arrangements for the child to be picked up must be made immediately.

If the child has had a fever, diarrhea or has thrown up, he/she must be fever-free or hasn’t had diarrhea or thrown up for 24 hours without fever-lowering medication before returning to school.

Please notify the office when your child has contracted communicable disease or illness such as chickenpox, measles, conjunctivitis (pink eye), E. Coli, fever, gastroenteritis (nausea and/or diarrhea), hepatitis, impetigo (blisters on skin), influenza (flu), or streptococcal (strep throat). Your child will be readmitted to school with WRITTEN APPROVAL from your physician when applicable.

Tuition is due on the first day of each month. You can pay by check, money order, credit card, apple pay, or google pay at the front desk or you can pay by debit/credit card by going to promisetyler.org/parent-resources and choosing “Pay Tuition”. Please remember to put your child’s name and what the payment is for in the description.

Parents who have not paid after the 14th of each month may be asked keep their child at home until the tuition bill is paid. Please keep the School Manager aware if you believe you will be late to pay your child’s Fair Share tuition.

Jewelry and other personal items of value should be kept at home. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items including technology, toys, and money. Children’s fingernails should be kept to fingertip length to avoid interference with handwriting development.

MON/TUES/WED/THURS BOTTOMS – Navy blue (not denim), dark gray, khaki, or Promise Plaid #76 shorts, pants, skort, or jumper (Note: skirt or jumper must be worn with black or blue shorts underneath)

MON/TUES/THURS TOPS & SHOES – White, gray, blue, navy, or gold polo shirt (shirt tucked in with a belt for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders) During the colder months the following can be worn over your child’s polo shirt in the classroom: SOLID school polo colors sweater, sweatshirt, jean jacket, blazer or hoodie. No logos except Promise Academy logo or logos smaller than a Credit card size. White socks and sneakers.

WEDNESDAYS OR DRESS EVENTS – White collar button-up shirt with plaid #76 crosstie & Navy cardigan. (Note: white shirts may require an undershirt) White socks or white, navy, or black tights. Dress shoes.

FRIDAYS – Blue jeans with any Promise t-shirt, crazy socks & sneakers.

Promise Academy closings will usually correspond to those of the Tyler Independent School District. We will communicate to the school community through Gradelink and Facebook. In addition, the school will be closed for any reasons deemed unsafe to students.
